Caring and kept it real. At the same time very motivating. . I’m in such a better headspace now that I saw Dr lux. I understand everything , he took so much time to explain my injuries. Most importantly he took me seriously as an older athlete.

Dismissive care, missing records, and a doctor who never called back ________________________________________ I am a patient of Dr. Ostrov at Symphony Medical in Dobbs Ferry and feel compelled to share my experience, as the level of care I received was deeply disappointing. When I began experiencing pain and discomfort related to a known history of fibroids, I called the office at the end of March and was told no appointments were available until the month of May. I was instructed to call back daily for cancellations — which I did, speaking to a live person and leaving voices messages, two to three times a day for three days, before securing an appointment. Upon arriving for my visit on April 9th, I learned that no one — not the receptionist, the medical assistant Ruza, nor Dr. Ostrov herself — had looked up my medical records, despite the fact that my previous doctor's office had faxed them over in January. This was confirmed when I called my former gynecologist's office after the appointment and was told the records had been sent months earlier. When I immediately called Symphony, Tamar at the Yonkers office, confirmed she could see my records right in the system. The records were there all along; no one had taken the time to pull them. During the appointment, when I raised concerns about not feeling well and asked whether the practice had provisions for patients in acute discomfort, Dr. Ostrov's response was dismissive: "Everyone who comes in here doesn't feel well — I am only one person." She conducted a brief exam, ordered a sonogram, and suggested I see a gastroenterologist — reasonable steps, but ones that lacked the context my medical history would have provided. I had to explain my fibroid history myself and raise the possibility that the hormones she had prescribed may have aggravated my condition. Dr. Ostrov then abruptly left the room. At the front desk, I was handed a phone number to call to schedule my own sonogram — no appointment was made on my behalf nor was I given a follow up appointment with the doctor. Familiar with the facility, I went downstairs myself and booked it for the following morning. Follow-up care was no better. After my sonogram confirmed fibroids and my gastroenterologist advised me to follow up with my gynecologist promptly, I called Symphony on April 13th and was told someone would call me back. No one did. I called again on April 14th and left a voicemail. On April 15th, Ruza called and offered a telehealth appointment on April 20th — without a set time — saying only that the doctor would call me at some point that day. On Monday April 20th at 9:35 a.m., Ruza called and asked whether I preferred a phone call or telehealth conference. I said a phone call was fine. She told me the doctor would call me "in about ten minutes." I waited until 12:30 p.m. Having not heard anything and unable to access the patient portal, I drove to the Dobbs Ferry office in person. Ruza was the only staff member present. When I explained that I had been waiting for Dr. Ostrov’s call since morning, her only response was: "Oh, she got busy." I left without speaking to the doctor, without a follow-up plan for my condition, and without any acknowledgment of what had occurred. This is not an acceptable standard of patient care. A practice that requires sick patients to call daily hoping for a cancellation, fails to review available medical records, rushes through examinations superficially without thoroughness or genuine care, offers no structured follow-up appointments, does not have a user friendly patient portal and does not honor its own callbacks has serious systemic issues. Dr. Ostrov or Symphony staff have not followed up or offered any resolution to my medical issue. This is very upsetting and unacceptable.
